"Hum Suffer"

Just something off the mind....at one go...no multiple drafts!

Humsafar the Hindi word for a soul mate and Hum Suffer is the 'Hinglish' derivation of the word conveying, we all Suffer. I feel our true soul mate is suffering. So here it is to all Hum Suffers, to one and all who suffer silently everyday!

Zindagi mein mile kuch humsafar,
and I feel, karein kyun Hum Suffer?

Safar shuru hua by giving Amma Suffer,
Aur khatm honay tak we all Suffer!

School aur college thi to ek haseen dagar
Jahaan kuch Teacher banein saale Hum Suffer!

Jab dost kartey thay Suffer,
to unmein mile naye Hum Suffer!

Yeh dost samajhte mere dard ko,
Because for once, thaa hamara common Suffer!

Society ke rules follow karte karte,
Aur milay naye Hum Suffer!

Maa-baap kehte Life banana hai to aur padh,
MBA ki kulhaadi khud pe maar kar, met hundreds of more Hum Suffers!

Zindagi ki shuruaat aur ab tak ke darmiyaan,
Ishq ke maare praani banein Hum Suffer!

Almighty ko laga thaa yeh sab kam,
To dharm, politics aur City Life ka phoda bumm!

Koi Sena, Kisi ka agenda har jagah par,
Saare Mumbaikar hain thukay hue Hum Suffer!

Mazhab ke naam par jab jale hazaaron ghar,
Tab samajh aaya hum nahi karenge ab Suffer!

Zindagi mein milenge saare hi Hum Suffer,
Lekin inhay he banana hai humein apna humsafar!

I usually make parodies of songs instantaneously, so I though I'd write some slam - poetry! This is my first attempt; wrote this at one go in few minutes with top-of-the-mind words.

Waiting for your responses.
Aamir :-)

The Verdict

Finally the Babri Masjid - Ram Janm Bhoomi verdict will be out sometime in the first week of October.

It doesn't concern me at all as I usually keep myself insulated from political issues, but this one is an exception for me. Why? I just fear that whatever the judgment maybe, it should not affect the common man. To put in vivid words, I have a feeling that some political party with the usual vested agenda might instigate the common (illiterate & emotional) people.

I was just a boy, when the riots took place over the frivolous issue, but nonetheless, the images captured by the media lenses being played over the years at the "demolition anniversary" is very fresh in my mind which haunts me; not because it affected me anyway, but due to the loss of lives of innocent people. I just pray that it MUST NOT BE REPEATED!

A lot has changed since the "event". We have better security and the people today are informed. There are mohalla committees which are maintaining peace in underprivileged neighbourhoods and ghettos. The people are doing their job, fortunately. But I don't trust the system. I have no faith in the judiciary of India. I have no faith in the security of India.

I just pray that everything turns out smooth tomorrow. The common man CANNOT rely on the system. This is not the democracy we voted for!

This is not pessimism, just a view on the reality.

I Have Not Quit

Its been months that I have written anything on my blog. I have just been writing professionally so I have been ignoring my blog, which I think has been ignored too much.

There are so many things to be said but I'm not saying! Why? Due to my infamous lethargy. I had written many pointers and story ideas on pieces of papers and duly misplaced them. I feel like kicking myself for being a moron.

I read a book for budding writers to hone their skills ( I don't know whether I'm still budding?) and there was only one good thing which i feel can help me or anyone who intends to write. What's that writer's Elixir? "To write everyday, diligently!" I hope that I stay true to my umpteenth promise to write everyday.
